Expanded Biography:
She recalls: "I did participate in a show in Olympia where I was commissioned to do art work for individuals; I also finished an assignment while working for an upcoming                       exhibition. Unfortunately I fractured my ankle six years ago whilst on the way to work, which slowed down my targets but I continued to paint portraits, caricatures, murals for homes, until it dawned on me that it was time for me to do my own exhibition and my own art instead of doing for individuals and companies.

I am fussy and selective in terms of where and what pieces; so I select specific places and books to display my art. I idealise Picasso and the best of my abstract art is still to come. Visit:

Extended Bio/Profile:
Ms. Khan is a London-based artist and interior designer. She imbibed an early appreciation of the arts from her immediate environment from as far back as she can remember.                              She recalls her life:
"I was born into a family where art and culture were important and had been for                                                              generations. I imbibed an early appreciation of the arts from our immediate environment                                                 from as far back as I can remember. Poets and artists came and stayed for long periods                                                    doing family portraits. I remember watching spellbound as they worked with brush, knife                                                 and pallet. My parents recognised my interest and inclination and encouraged me to paint. I                                                             have not looked back since.
"In time people around me began to recognise my special gift. At first the recognition was                                                             confined to school and college fetes, functions and exhibitions. I studied fine arts at                                                                         university. During the course of one of the college exhibitions my entire work was sold out,                                                     much to the chagrin of my art teacher who did not think I was very talented. He was very                                                      critical of my work and would do not  do any corrections but thanks to the external examiner,
passed with distinction.                                                "I painted all the time as a young girl but friends and family used to take my paintings to display in their drawing rooms.

"I have dabbled in other fields such as fashion designing, campaigns for fashion shows,                                                   writing and designing for fashion magazines. I had been working for international                                                                        expositions, exhibitions and conferences in India, which I continued to do when I came to           the UK. I also ran my own advertising agency in India.
"The turning point in my life was when I got married and I arrived in this country. I had two                                                 lovely kids and my life became an incessant whirl of school schedules and kids’ activities. I                                                             was baffled with all the work and responsibilities because I had to adapt to the British                      lifestyle, which I was not used to do everything.
"However I continued my artwork between my hectic schedules, until I had a big break  painting life-sized figures for a trendy restaurant, which when finished was covered by press.                                                             I was also interviewed by one of the Asian TV Channels.
"I had decorated my house and the unusual decor caught people's eye and merited another                                                             newspaper article and had a student from Cambridge University include the outside of my                                                        house (because of its unusual design) in his project."

The Portrait gallery in London approached me to participate in B.P Awards.
I was also asked to display my paintings permanently in the Nevada Museum of fine Arts       Las Vegas.

Because I had displayed my work in the Nevada Museum of Fine Arts in 2010
